2016 – New projects finished

2016 has begun and my first project is already finished and in the mail to Germany.  Each year the German Mosaic Organisation DOMO ev. has a group show which travels around Germany. This year’s topic is “Less is More” – Our lives are so busy, everything happens so fast. How do we slow down and enjoy the things that are most important in life. What can we do without and how do we make the things we do more worthwhile.  I chose to keep my piece in black and white – simple.

Jedes Jahr veranstaltet der Deutsche Mosaikorganisation DOMO ev. eine Gruppenausstellung. Dieses Jahr ist der Thema “Weniger ist Mehr”.

Manchmal läuft alles so schnell im Leben und wenn  man sich nicht die Zeit nehmen kann um durchzuatmen wird man krank.  Stop and Breathe: Augen schließen, tief durchatmen, nachdenken, zu sich kommen und bewusst neu los legen.  Das Stück ist bewusst „einfach“ in Schwarz/ Weiß gehalten, weil es so einfach sein sollte sich bewusst Zeit zur Regeneration zu gönnen.

 

Making of a mirror

We’ve been considering redoing the flooring and cabinets in our front hall for quite a while. Now that the kids are no longer racing down the hall on their Bobby Cars, we took the dive.  Paint job, new flooring in the hall, the stairs and the kitchen. 34 ft of new cabinets and new entry way furniture.  After finding the perfect material for our curtains, I decided to spiff up our old mirror. This time just for fun!  Here are the results.

Atelier Verkauf Weihnachten – Christmas Sale 2014

Viele Leute kennen mich als “die Gießkannenfrau”, aber ich kann viel mehr als Gartenkugeln und Gießkannen produzieren. Inzwischen schmelze ich Glas in meinem Brennofen und viele schöne neue Objekte sind schon für Weihnachten bereit. Ich würde mich freuen wenn Sie Zeit haben bei mir vorbei zu schauen.  Mein Atelier ist in der 10. Oktoberstraße 11 in 9500 Villach.  Nicht vergessen – bis Weihnachten gibt es 20% Rabatt auf alle lagernden Schmuckstücke!

This year I am not only “the Watering Can Lady” who makes garden art, but also a Christmas elf making angels and other Christmas decorations for your tree. My new glass fusion ornaments can be found in my studio in Villach. I live in the same house as my studio, so do not hesitate to ring my doorbell, if you do not find me at work in my studio. Lange Nacht der Museen 2014 – Long Night of Museums

Die ORF Österreichische Rundfunk organisiert wieder die Lange Nacht der Museen in ganz Österreich. 83 Museen, Galerien und Ateliers werden in ganz Kärnten am 4. Oktober ihre Türen von 18:00 bis 1:00 öffnen.  Naturally Mosaics ist auch dabei. Ich habe meine Mosaik Kolleginnen Angela Zimek Mosaik aus Klagenfurt/Hermagor und die Mosaik Spechte aus Villach eingeladen mich zu unterstützen.

“Alte Technik ganz modern: 3 Künstlerinnen, Heidi Easton-Pichler, Malu Storch von Mosaik Spechte und Angela Zimek, präsentieren ihre Werke – von abstrakten über realistische Darstellungen bis zum Objekt. Jede Künstlerin hat ihre eigene, zeitgemäße Mosaiksprache entwickelt. Die verschiedenen Techniken und Materialien unterstreichen den jeweiligen Stil und zeigen die Vielseitigkeit dieser Kunstform. Lassen Sie sich in den Bann der kleinen Teile ziehen!”

          Im Vorverkauf ist das Ticket beim ORF Ticketservice, sowie bei allen teilnehmenden Museen und Kulturinstitutionen erhältlich, in diesen und am „Treffpunkt Museum“ auch am Tag der Veranstaltung.

Hammer-Hackstock

Every year the Austrian Television Corporation ORF organises a long night of museums throughout Austria. All the museums, galleries and studios are open on Sturday October 4th from 6 pm to 1 am.  One ticket will get you into all of the museums on the list in your region.  I have asked two mosaic colleagues to join me when I open my studio  for this special evening.  83 museums will be open in Carinthia.

Naturally Mosaics will be joined by Angela Zimek Mosaik from Klagenfurt and the Mosaik Spechte from Villach.  We want to show how versatile the art of mosaics can be. We will be showing more traditional mosaics, as well as modern mosaics and objects created as home and garden decoration.

They will be hosting the XIVth  AIMC Conference of Contemporary Mosaic in in the Palffy Palace in Vienna Austria,  May 21st – 24th

Die Internationale Organisation für Moderne Mosaikkünstler wird ihr Jahres Hauptversammlung und Mosaikkonferenz dieses Jahr in Wien halten – 21.-24.Mai.

There isn’t a large number of mosaic artists in Austria with websites and business adventures. I’ve chosen to join the German organisation to stay in closer contact with my German speaking colleagues. Angela Zimek and I are the only members who live in Austria.

Mein Bestreben war in nähere Kontakt mit meinen Deutschsprachigen Kollegen zu bleiben. Im Moment sind nur Angela Zimek und ich die einzige Österreichische Mitgleider des Vereins.

Christmas in the Park 2012

Weihnachten im Park in Villach hat für mich und Sigrid Peruci – Was Buntes gestern angefangen. Wir sind jeden Donnerstag bis Sonntag bis Weihnachten im Parkhotel Park in Villach Wir freuen uns auf euer Kommen. Es wird heute Nacht anfange zu schneien und es Weihnachtet sehr!
